The NYSSWA has posted the 2024-25 SMALL SCHOOL ALL-STATE TEAM. Steve Grandin and his team have worked very hard to put these teams together.
AROUND THE STATE . . .
The final horn has sounded, ending the 2024-25 season. We’d like to thank everyone who made it our best ever. The feedback and support we received from coaches, fans, other media members, and players, was unbelievable and greatly appreciated.
We look forward to next season and would like to hear from you about anything we might add to make our website better.
SEASON IN REVIEW . . .
The story of the year is Glens Falls’ 54 game win streak. With their final win in the State Class A Final, they tied Lake George for the longest streak in Section 2 history and the 8th longest in NY history.
Kayden Mingo of Long Island Lutheran was named the 2024-25 NY Gatorade Player of the Year. STORY
In the past two seasons, Section 2 has won 7 of the 13 State championship games.
Berne Knox-Westerlo completed an undefeated season, winning the State Class C title.
Archbishop Stepinac won their 3rd consecutive CHSAA title and 2nd newly formed PSAL/CHSAA Challenge.
Marcellus, after losing the 2024 State Class B championship game, defeated Woodlands to win the title this season.
Panama won their 1st state championship, defeating 9 time champion Bridgehampton in the Class D final.
Binghamton, who won consecutive state championships in 1985 and 1986, ended a 39-year drought by defeating Niskayuna in the Class AA final.
