In the 2024 NYSPHSAA State Championships, Section 2 teams took an unprecedented 4 titles in the 6 classifications. Green Tech (AAA), Glens Falls (A), Stillwater (B), and North Warren (D) took home the hardware.  Section 2 teams have now won 27 State titles with Lake George leading the way with 3 championships, their last being in 2018. Three teams reached the final in 2022 with Ichabod Crane taking home their 1st title.

Joseph Girard III of Glens Falls, N.Y. State's all-time career leading scorer with 4,763 points, averaged 50.0 points per game in 2017-18. He came close to the all-time high school record of 54.0 ppg set by Bobbie Joe Douglas of Marion, LA in 1980.
