Last season, Long Island Lutheran joined the prestigious National Interscholastic Basketball Conference which features many of the top high school teams in the nation. They also won the Federation AA title. It will be interesting to see how they fit into the NY basketball scene this coming year.

The New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) was formed in 1947and is the second largest independent association in the U.S.

Two of the schools have been dominant in the Federation Tournament of Champions with Long Island Lutheran the frontrunner with 9 titles. Collegiate is second with 6 banners.

Nichols, now competing in the CHSAA, has 4 of their 5 Federation titles while competing with the NYSAIS and Albany Academy has cut down the nets in 4 of the last 8 Federation tournaments that were held.
